AmsterJAM 2026

The 24th edition of AmsterJAM was very high on vibes again. Steady strong wind conditions all weekend long combined with a smooth running tournament on Sunday.

The footing on the playfield that Iwan had set up was not very good, soft sand, so most teams played more towards the water, without deduction in points. This resulted in judging from a distance for everybody not on the field was hiding from the strong wind (8-9 meters/second, 4 Beaufort).

Some last minute team adjustments were made due to an injury resulting in a co-op team and on the other hand Jakub Koštel recovered enough (after feeling not so good before) to be shredding during the tournament with his partner Bibi.

The spirit of the game award, an arti octopus, went to Jean-Marie Abel (Germany). His return to AmsterJAM after some years was a treat to all of us. Jean is a very charming person with a very entertaining high energy game and a reach like a kraken. His team partner (AmsterJAM regular) Simon just missed out on that same spirit award. Actually all competitors should have gotten the award.

The cream on top of the pie:

AmsterJAM regular since the year he was born, Leif was jamming on the beach with his daddy!!!

But there was a lot more cream to spread> After some twenty years a Czech posse honored AmsterJAM with a visit with no less than 7 jammers and family.

Last year‘s winners Sylvina and Pepijn from Belgium came in third place this time.

Olli Petrus from Germany and Czech player Pavel Baranyk (currently based in New York) took second place.

First place was unanimously voted to be for Tom Leitner (USA/Italy) and Anka Radwanska

Not everybody who joined in was mentioned but that doesn’t meanyou are not in my heart. I love you all!

AmsterJAM would be nothing without you!!!
